As we near the release of the highly anticipated Smash Bros title on the Switch, Nintendo has given us another new direct. This time showing off Simon and Richter from the Castlevania series. Alucard will be available as an assist trophy. Chrom also joins the roster this time around as well as Dark Samus in new categories known as "echo fighters," characters with similar move sets than previously existing characters in the franchise. Daisy, for example, is an "echo fighter" of Peach. The direct also showed off some new stages like Garden of Hope, Summit, and an Unova Pokemon league map. We will also see a large number of returning numbers from previous titles with a massive 103 levels with all levels usable in 8 player battles and able to turn into omega form. You can also turn off hazards for maps. There will be a new mode called "Sage Morph" which will allow you to pick two stages that the map will alternate between. You'll be able to play any songs from a series on any maps, for example all Legend of Zelda titles would be available on all Legend of Zelda series levels. New rules including a chargeable final smash or even custom movesets will be added as well. New battle modes like "Squad Strike," will allow gamers to play 3 on 3 or 5 on 5 in a battle as well as a tournament mode, smashdown which will eliminate characters that the players has previously won with and a classic mode, which marks a return to the original story mode. New items like the banana gun, the killing edge from Fire Emblem, a Bomber, Death's Scythe, a mushroom that will reverse your opponents controller and a rifle that increases in damage the more damage the user has taken. Plenty of new Pokemon were shown, including Alolan exclusives like Vulpix and Exugutor, as well as Mimikyu. Zero, Knucles, Kappn from Animal Crossing and more were shown off as Assist trophies as well as fan favorite Shovel Knight and the moon from Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask. Also, Rathalos from the Monster Hunter series appears as both an in game boss and an assist trophy. The trailer ended with a surprise reveal of King K. Rool from the Donkey Kong series as a new playable character. Super Smash Bros Ultimate is due out for the Switch December 7th, 2018.

There is a strong debate about the upcoming Super Smash Bros title and their could be some evidence pointing to a surprising move. After the announcement of the title coming to the Switch, a lot of fans couldn't help but notice the silhouette's showing what looks like a handful of new characters coming to the game, suggesting the possibility that this could be an entirely new titles and not just a port of the Wii U/3DS versions. Given that the last Super Smash Bros title was released back in September of 2014 and has not had an update in content since 2016. Since we know (from the trailer) that the Inklings as well as Breathe of the Wild will be included, Nintendo would be best off to include these characters in the formerly released titles as well. There is also the fact that Hal Labs is developing the title, taking the reigns from Bandai/Namco who made the Wii U/3DS titles. There's also MAsahiro Sakurai's tweet about the title, asking the fans to wait for more information. It it also surprising that Sakurai is returning for the Switch title, given how spent he was during the creation of the last game and how it was only 4 short years ago since it's release. This is also given the fact that there was seven years between the release of Melee and Brawl and five years between Brawl and Wii U/3DS title. All in all, people are going to be getting their hands on Super Smash Bros for the Switch so looks like we just have to sit tight and wait for more news as it comes.
It's hard to remember Super Smash Bro's latest release all the way back in 2014 but Nintendo is finally ready to release the game on their latest console, the Nintendo Switch. While it left a lot of fans scratching their heads wondering why Nintendo wouldn't launch the console with the popular fighting title, it seems like its still going to work out in everyone's favor. Not only has the Switch been a wildly successful console (selling around 16.7 million units in its first year), but the short teaser trailer showed up a glimpse of the new addition of the Inklings from Splatoon as well as the Breath of the Wild Link and a dark silhouette that will hopefully tease more characters to come. Hopefully we will see the addition of some new levels as well. Also, with the addition of so many 3rd party titles to the Switch roster including the upcoming Dark Souls port and the just announced Crash Bandicoot game, we could potentially see the addition of more famous video games faces from other series. The timing also makes sense considering we are just past the one year anniversary of the Switch launch so it is smart of Nintendo to shower their large fanbase with loads of announcements like today's Nintendo Direct. With the joy con controller and the portability of the Switch, the experience of Super Smash Bros will be elevated to the next level, offering multiple game play experiences. While we have no set date, we do know that it is coming in 2018 and I would not be shocked if we saw more of it come E3 and a probable release toward the fall months/holiday season. No word on whether or not the Super Smash Bros for the 3DS or the now discontinued Wii U would be receiving these updated characters. It looks like we are getting a new Nintendo Direct this week and rumor has it that it might be a big one. Nintendo has been relatively quite going into 2018 but we are just four days from the one year anniversary of the wildly successful Switch launch, so it makes sense that Nintendo is going to focus on the handheld console hybrid. There have been a number of titles confirmed for Nintendo with no updates thus far including a main series Pokemon title. This would also make sense because I am more than sure Nintendo will have another impressive booth at this years E3 event, taking place in LA in June. Looks like we will just have to wait one more day to find out whats in store but get excited for some fun news and announcements for Nintendo.
After a week of speculation it turned out that the rumored Nintendo Direct was real after all. In their first broadcast of 2018, Nintendo gave us a "Nintendo Direct Mini," which was essentially a short presentation that just blew through a number of surprising announcements, from new titles to a Dark Souls port for the Switch. Take a look at the release date and titles below and get excited for some of the titles coming out this Spring for Nintendo Switch.

You'll get ready to trade items with your friends and explore a whole new angle of the Animal Crossing world this Wednesday. You can take a look at the official trailer below. Nintendo Switch is still growing its catalog but Nintendo's commitment to bring 3rd party and M rated games to the console is quickly coming to fruition, including one massively popular shooter that is getting some pretty solid reviews. Doom, which was released on multiple consoles back in 2016, finds gamers controlling a lone soldier soldier battling some of the deadliest creatures from Hell. The bloody and gore filled game has had an immense popularity among fans of the shooting genre since its original PC release back in 1993. The series has sold over 10 million copies and latest release is the 8th game in the franchise series overall. Make sure you pick up this title if you're looking for some hardcore action on the go and get ready to wreck some demons. Update: I could not find an official launch trailer so here is one from the Nintendo Direct announcing the release of Doom as well as Wolfenstein 2 for the Switch. While Stranger Thing season 2 is getting ready to hit Netflix at midnight, a lot of gamer's will be lining up across the country for a triple release of triple A titles. Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, Super Mario Odyssey, and Assassin's Creed Origin's are all being released officially tomorrow with many locations hosting some type of midnight release. Assassins Creed, Wolfstein 2, and Super Mario Odyssey have been receiving rave reviews from 8's to 10's respectively. Wolfenstein, the direct sequel to Wolfenstein: New World Order, finds William Blazkowicz as he fights off a nazi regime. Assassins Creed will take players to Egypt for the first time for a new world and adventure. Super Mario Odyssey is a return to the Super Mario 64, equipped with an amazing soundtrack, modern environments, and a colorful world, Mario is giving gamer's that classic Nintendo fun. Wolfenstein and Assassins Creed will both be released on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC while Wolfenstein and Super Mario Odyssey will both land on the Nintendo Switch.
After a few months delay Nintendo finally drew back the curtain on their next mobile title and it is seriously impressive. Animal Crossing Pocket Camp looks to combine all of the fun of the console and handheld titles into a neat smart phone game, allowing players to create furniture and interact with one another. You'll be traveling locations, encountering familiar faces, and plenty of more creating your dream town. Instead of a home, players will live in a camper which they can customize both the inside and out. You will also be allowed to build new items in your town as well. The official in game currency, known as Leaf Tickets, will be distributed by Tom Nook which can be won in game in a number of ways or purchase using real money. The game looks absolutely fantastic, my only question is how the movement will work on the screen but until then, take a look at the trailer and get excited for new Animal Crossing adventures when they arrive late this November.
update: I will post a link for the trailer soon as one becomes available It's been a long time coming. Nintendo has finally announced that they are ready to show off their next mobile game venture, this time in the form of the popular Animal Crossing franchise. The game which was scheduled for release earlier this year was pushed back to an unspecified release date but was promised to come before the end of the year. The game will also be the only announcement in tomorrows Nintendo Direct, which means that there will (or at least should) be no information on a possible Animal Crossing title on the Switch. The Animal Crossing Nintendo Direct is set to debut 8pm PST 11pm EST Tuesday 10/24.
