In a huge story that broke earlier this morning, well known streamer Ninja released a video on his twitter stating that he would be leaving Amazon streamer service Twitch for Microsoft's Mixer. Now, if you are not an Xbox owner or player, it would not be a far stretch to imagine that you have never heard of this service until today and I'm surprised it stuck around as long as it did. It would have been a far less shocking story if Microsoft announced that they were shuttering the service, effectively killing it off from their platforms, but for them to poach the most well known streamer from the most well known gamer streaming service is a huge move that could pay off in a major way. Tyler "Ninja" Blevins doubles the second most popular streamer on Twitch coming in around 14 million subscribers and there has been a wave of backlash, calling the popular gamer a "sellout," for leaving the platform. While it is currently unknown what Micrsoft shelved out for this deal, considering Ninja made ten million in 2018 from Twitch and a massively popular Youtube channel, one could imagine that Microsoft is paying big for what will hopefully be a massive turnout for Mixer. As of now, Ninja's twitch channel is still open to view on Twitch but only time will tell what will happen to both streaming services as well as if this move will bring his millions of followers over to Mixer.
