Well, this is a bit of a surprise. Disney has apparently decided to not move forward with it's planned Tron sequel that was rumored to be title, Tron: Ascension. Director Joseph Kosinski, along side returning actors Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund, were also rumored to return for the sequel. After 2010's lack luster performance of the second film in the series, it finally began to seem that the sequel was actually moving forward. One has to wonder if this is a reaction to Disney's less than stellar box office performance from Tomorrowland over Memorial Day Weekend. You can never say never when it comes to Hollywood but for the time being, it looks like we won't be seeing Tron 3 anytime soon.

Final Fantasy fans have a reason to celebrate as it was announced that we'll be getting some more news about the upcoming title next Thursday, June 4th 6 am Pacific/9am Eastern, on the next Youtube and Twitch streamed Active Time Report. Recently, it was revealed that the demo for Final Fantasy 15 that was packaged with Final Fantasy Type-O, will be updated in the next few weeks based on feedback from fans. So while we won't be seeing this title anywhere during E3, at least we will hear something about it prior! Until then, keep your eyes and ears open for more news! (Take a look at the last Active Time Report below) Traditionally, memorial day weekend is the start to the summer for most people in the U.S. including the box office, but recent years have seen some of the years bigger films open as early as April and this years box office suffered, heavily. It suffered so bad in fact, that this is the lowest box office turnout we've had for the four day weekend since 2001. It was so slow that not even a Disney movie could turn out their expected profit but the real problem here is the remake of the 1982 horror classic, Poltergeist, that managed to bring in a fair 28 million dollars (which, against a 35 million dollar budget isn't so bad,) the problem is this films underwhelming debut spells trouble for another remake, Stephen King's "It." True Detective director, Cary Fukunaga, stepped away from the project this past weekend citing, "budgetary disputes," as being part of the reason he left. Various sources have also claimed that New Line, the company behind the remake, was afraid to give the project too much money because of the low earnings that came in from Poltergeist. Regardless of what happened behind the scenes, it seems as though for the moment that the project is shelved, indefinitely. So only time will tell if we will get to see Pennywise again.
Fans patiently awaiting the next Yoshi title, Yoshi's Woolly World, were treated to a surprise today, when it was revealed the limited edition yarn amiibo's will feature un-lockable skins in game. All the un-lockables will come from the current roster of already existing amiibo figurines, with the exception of the Pokemon. If you purchase one of the yarn Yoshi's and tap them on the screen during the game, it will trigger a second Yoshi to appear and play along side you. Aside from that, the game itself will feature a number of un-lockable costumes as well. The games scheduled to be released in Europe, June 16th, later this summer in Japan and sometime this Fall in the U.S. Take a look at the fun new trailer that shows off some of the costumes you'll be able to use if you have collected those amiibos! If you were one of the gamers the picked up the most recent Mortal Kombat release and noticed that some familiar faces were missing, you weren't the only one, but series creator Ed Boon confirmed on twitter that Tanya will be making her way back to the title. While the official date hasn't been confirmed, Boon stated it would be "early June," which is just around the corner. A few weeks ago, a modder was able make certain unplayable characters playable, including Sindel, Baraka and Rain. Hopefully we'll be seeing them pop up in future DLC packs.
Mad Max: Fury Road has been the talk of the town since it's release and now's its gotten a crossover treatment with one of the most popular racing franchises in gaming history. Take a look at the amazing trailer for Mario Kart: Fury Road. Keep and eye out for plenty of funny Easter eggs from the Nintendo series! It's barely been over half a year since the successful first installment in the latest book-to-feature-film franchise and we already have an intense trailer for the second film due out later this fall, The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trails. The story picks up right where the first one left off, showing out heroes entering the ominous "phase two," in a compound located in a scorched and sand covered area. As they work along side an organization of resistance fighters, Thomas, played again by Dylan O'Brien, soon discovers that not all is as it seems. Take a look at some new and familiar faces returning for Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, September 18th, 2015. It's been a long few months but we've finally reached the climactic ending of the CW's latest super hero series. The Flash started in October 2014, featuring former Glee alum, Grant Gustin as Barry Allen. After an accident from an accelerator, Allen is given the power of super speed and tries to find the man that killed his mother and in turn, framed his father for a crime he didn't commit. The Flash, while lighthearted at times, never lets up on the serious tone, a note most likely borrowed from it's inspiration series Arrow, which crossed over in a handful of episodes. The series as well featured a a great supporting cast and managed to give us enough fun and interesting villains to earn a spin-off of their own. The action is stylish and some of the scenes even rival big budget speedsters like Avengers: Age of Ultrons Quicksilver. The Flash's biggest advantage however, is time. In an era where seemingly ever medium is being populated with a plethora of Super heroes, The Flash manages to give a wide arrange of emotional growth that we're not so use to seeing. The series is full of tricks and turns and some amazing nods towards whats next to come in Season two including another hero who will emerge from the S.T.A.R.R. Labs team. As to not spoil much for those who haven't seen it, this is seriously one of the best comic book based series on television and one you'll want to binge watch when it comes out!
