The bankruptcy of Relativity Media has officially claimed it's first victim. After it was announced that the production company would be filing for chapter 11 just yesterday, it looks like the planned Crow remake is left without funding. While pre-production has been under way for some time, as of now the movie is suspended but sources claim that Relativity Media still "intends to move forward with producing and releasing the film." The remake also hit another bump in the road with original lead actor, Jack Huston, leaving the role as well. Hopefully we'll get to see this movie hit the big screen but as of right now, thing's aren't looking so well.

If you're anything like me, you were probably confused when Fox announced that they were planning on bringing the cajun explosive himself, Gambit, to his own solo film. You were probably even more confused when you heard that the lead role went to none other than Channing Tatum. Not that I have a problem with Tatum's talent but on paper, the idea sounded odd. All seemed to be going pretty smoothly with reports of Tatum working on the accent as well as various tricks for the role and even appearing along side Deadpool and X Men: Apocalypse actors earlier this month at San Diego Comic Con, thus solidifying his role in the comic book film. So it was strange that almost immediately after the estimated cost of the film was released, a whopping 154, 975, 309 dollars, reports began to swirl that Channing Tatum might be leaving the project. There is talks that the actor may not play the role of the producer of the film as well as starring in it or he might "exit the project entirely." A shame honestly, Channing is both physically capable as well as charming enough to actually surprise movie goers and bring this long time X men character to life. At the moment no official statement has been made of given so stay tuned for more.

The intelligence officer and love interest of Wonder Woman has finally been cast and it's by on of the actors who was rumored to be in the running for the new Green Lantern. Star Trek's Chris Pine, looks like he'll be taking on the role of Steve Trevor in the Wonder Woman solo film. This is also the second announced cast member since Gal Gadot as the heroin herself. This is good news considering last we heard it sounded like DC didn't know which direction to head when it came to bringing this iconic hero to the big screen. This also begs the question, will we get to see a bit of Diana's (Wonder Woman) home, Paradise Island. They might keep continuity as well seeing as the character will appear in next years Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, so maybe the origin story won't be explained after all? Let's hope that the movie gives this hero the story she deserves!
Due to a busy few days, the posting has been a little light but I have migrated to a new computer and hopefully business will go better than ever! Lets get right back to it. Marvel's Spiderman reboot is making a lot of moves to make sure it doesn't end up like any of the other big screen films we've seen before. After the surprising casting announcement was made, Marvel wasted no time announcing who would be the writer or writers behind the film. The comedic minds behind Vacation, John Francis Daley and Johnathan Goldstein have given some more info on their "vision," behind the latest Spiderman film coming in 2017. Fans should be ready for a lot of laughs as the duo aims to shine on Peter Parker's, "geek," side. While Andrew Garfield's Spiderman was more witty than his predecessors, it's going to be a challenge if they don't pit him against the right villain. Not every funny Marvel movie works as well as it should. Keep an eye out for more news about the upcoming Spiderman film and get ready to see the new webslinger, Tom Holland, on the big screen in 2016's Captain America: Civil War.
Fallout 4 has hit the floors of QuakeCon and we've learned some exciting news about the upcoming title. The post-apocalyptic title will have up to twelve available human companions that the player will be able to romance. This is also not gender restricted, allowing players to partner same sex characters if they choose to do so. While not much has been given on the companions, we did hear of a new character by the name of Piper, who you'll encounter in Diamond City. Fall Out 4 launches on November 10th of this year.
Southpaw is punching it's way into that box office weekend but does it pack a punch or miss completely? Antoine Fuqua's latest drama film, starring Jake Gyllenhaal but also originally eyed rap star Eminem, follows the story of boxer Billy Hope who's life quickly unravels after the untimely death of his wife and his road to redemption. The bad part about this film is that it doesn't accomplish much of, well, anything. The opening sequence starts off with our main character getting pummeled and covered in blood and might honestly be the best action scene in the entire film. After the death of Hope's wife, Rachel McAdam's character, Maureen, the Hope life seemingly falls apart over night. Losing everything from his former boss and promoter played by 50 Cent, to the custody of his daughter following his reckless actions after the death of his wife. Unfortunately, that's about as down and out as he really gets. Everything that seems to happen comes together pretty well for our former number 1 champ. Throughout the middle section and almost until the end, the movie is filled with cliché after cliché tear-jerking moment that echo's her death throughout. Hope's motivation, again, feels a bit off. He's a little too single focused and even after the betrayal of his former boss, he's offered the opportunity to expedite his process and get back into the ring after a mere two months time. It's a little hard to believe that a man who's explosive debut, that could have gone in so many directions, headed down the trail of the average sports film. The cinematography can be a mess at times, going from oddly intense shots to sloppy editing. (especially when it came to throwing punches) Fortunately, for movie goers, Gyllenhaal's chameleon like acting style as of late has earned him a lot of praise and I wouldn't be shocked if we saw a nomination come award season. This movie really accomplishes nothing you haven't seen already, not a great or inspiring story line nor does it want to make me go out and learn how to box. Aside from a left handed boxer, this movie falls pretty flat for a pretty great director. This is one you might wait to catch on TV during the day.

November's latest James Bond release has given us a new and exciting trailer and we've learned a lot more about this spy thriller this time around. It looks like aside from Bond, played again by Daniel Craig, he'll also be protecting a very important mans daughter. We see some familiar faces as well as some new ones including our villain, played by Christoph Waltz, who's devilish demeanor might make him one of the best we've seen on screen. Take a look at the brand new trailer below and get a look at that new bond mobile! The Good Dinosaur has over come a lot of hurdles since it was initially announced back in 2011. The film, that was at the time untitled, was scheduled to be released November 27th, 2013 but after letting go of the former director and producer, Pixar laying off 67 employees, the movie was basically re-built from the ground up to become the gorgeous trailer we now have. This will also be Pixar's second film release within the same year, ever, and if it's anywhere near as successful as Inside Out then they'll have another big hit on their hands. Take a look at The Good Dinosaur, due out in theaters November 25th, 2015. |
