A spin off from the popular Super Mario 3D World game comes the new Wii U title, Captain Toad. A game lead by the long time hero himself will take players through a similar plat former as they hunt tricky puzzled levels for treasure. Captain Toad: Treasure Hunter this holiday season. We're not sure what we're looking at and we're not sure if it's real but the rumor that has been setting the internet on fire for the past 12 hours has been the possibility of Nintendo introducing a Mario Maker title on the 3DS. One particular gentlemen leads to the credibility of the rumor by stating that he's "a little more confident" As things heat up for E3, we're just going to have to wait and see what kind of title, if any, Nintendo introduces next week.
Mario Kart 8 has spawned one of the best new meme's 2014. The "Luigi death stare," has created tons of youtube and vine videos of players hitting other characters as Luigi drives past them in slow motion. Some are set to music and some are even just photo shopped pictures. Check out a few of the best here, here, and here. (Warning: Some videos contain music with offensive language)
The Wii U has not had the best time since it's release and Nintendo is counting on its newest addition to one of it's most popular franchises to move some units with today's release of Mario Kart 8. The game, that boast stellar graphics, upside down tracks, and motorcycles, even has it own bundle in stores. The latest games reviews are all positive, gameinformer gave it a 9.25/10 and eurogamer gave it a 10/10, it currently has a metacritic score of 89/100. IGN has even posted a video of the best shortcuts for the racing title as well. With retailers offering the bundle for a cheap 330$, it's hard not to run out and get this bundle with a great game so if you've been waiting to pick up a Wii U, now's the time to do it! Mario Kart 8 is in stores now! Through a promotional deal between the German automobile manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz, and Nintendo, Mario will be receiving a free piece of DLC that features him driving in a new Mercedes GLA. I have to say, when I saw this screen shot, I was not entirely sure that it was legitimate but apparently it is so car fans and Mario fans get excited. This DLC is only planned for Japan for now but Nintendo was reportedly, "confident," in it hitting western shores later after the games release. Mario Kart 8 will be in stores tomorrow! There's no doubt about it, the Wii U is struggling but on top of a, hopefully strong, presence at this years E3, they have a good handful of exclusive titles being released this year that might be able to help this flailing system. Mario Kart is not only one of the best franchises from Nintendo, the 8th installment in the series looks amazing. With new characters, some new game modes, a re-done version of the classic Mario Kart track Rainbow Road, and plenty of other features like online multi-player, this fun racing title is shaping up to be a strong game for the Wii U this year. It also doesn't hurt that it's receiving it's own WII U bundle, which appears to already be doing well based on pre-orders. Mario Kart 8 will be released May 30th, 2014. Super smash bro's is one of the titles we wait for whenever Nintendo announce plans for a new consoles or handheld. It's hands down one of the best fighting franchises to date and the 4th game doesn't look to disappoint. While I'm sure we're going to hear a lot more about this game around E3, Nintendo is releasing a version for the 3DS and the Wii U separately, the 3DS receiving it's version first. They games differ in the modes, graphics, but will still contain the same amount of characters. Both will feature online multi-player aspects as well. With Melee alone selling 7 million copies and Brawl selling 1.4 million units in its first week in America alone, I'm fairly confident a lot of gamers are going to be picking up one, if not both, of these titles. Another smart move would be a Wii U Smash Bros bundle but that's just wishful thinking. Super Smash Bros will release for the 3DS this summer and the Wii U this fall. No, this is not a traditional Zelda release title and no, it's not what you'd expect our hero Link to be featured in. I'm going to be honest and say this is a 50/50 chance that this game may be a huge hit, but Hyrule Warriors might just turn a big profit. On paper, a Legend of Zelda game with Dynasty Warriors mechanics sounds horrendous, in reality, it might just be one of the most fun steps away from the canonical iconic series. The open world game play, lots of creatures on the screen, attack combos and the sort, the only thing we really need is a list of characters we could play as. It would be fun to run around as Shiek or Ganon and take on hoards of creatures. With a planned release for sometime this year, we're going to have to wait a little while to see what exactly the game is going to be all about.
