Marvel's Civil War 2 comic has hit store shelves and i comes with some major, shocking moments in just it's first issue. (Partial spoilers ahead) In one of the highly anticipated Marvel comic releases this year, Civil War finds out heroes working with a new inhuman by the name of Ulysses, who's ability to see the future helps the team of heroes stop a powerful foe. While Captain Marvel decides it's best to continue to use his powers to prevent disasters, Tony Stark see's it different, conflicted with the idea of arresting people who've yet to commit a crime. Ulysees then see's an attack by Thanos and, against Star's wishes, Marvel leads her team in a fight that causes the death of a close from of Iron Man as well as another surprising casualty due to a mistaken friendly fire. A great issue that perfectly set's the tone for where this comic is going to head. You can pick up Civil War 2 at comic book stores now! (You can take a look at IGN's review, here)
Marvel's got the internet swirling with a new rumor about the upcoming Thor film and it's storyline. It's no secret that The Hulk hasn't (and will not), be seen until the next Thor film but now, we might have an idea of just what he's going to be doing there. According to Joblo, the story line might involve the popular Planet Hulk comic, which finds an exiled Hulk in a gladiator-like tournament in space. We should expect The Hulk in his signature shoulder battle armor as well. Another hint came from the casting of Jeff Goldblum as The Grandmaster, one of the elders of the universe, that begins tournament. This is also Marvel's best bet due to the fact that Universal has the rights to the Hulk and they cannot produce a solo film on their own. We'll also see Thor embarking on a quest to find a weapon to stop Ragnarok, the title of the film as well as the Asgardian version of the Armageddon. Pictured above is concept art of Hera, the villain of the film played by Cate Blanchet, standing in front of soldiers with weapons aimed at her. Thor: Ragnarok is due out in theaters July 28th, 2017.
(Light Spoilers) The big blockbuster season is upon us and first up is Marvel's latest super hero title, Captain America: Civil War but, it's this showdown between heroes worth your buck? The latest title picks up after the events from Avengers 2: Age of Ultron, leaving our heroes divided over the collateral damage caused by the battle of Sovokia. Due to the high level of casualties, Tony Stark sides with the governments plan to protect citizens by limiting the autonomy of the Avengers and from there, the division widens. Captain America is equal parts an Iron Man film as it is a Captain Rogers film, weighing heavy motivations for both characters involved. The action is a huge step up from nearly any Marvel film preceding it with an amazing opening sequence and a super hero showdown that's worth the 2 and a half hour run time alone. You'll be pleasantly surprised to hear that aside from all of our returning heroes, Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther as well as Tom Holland's Spider Man fir perfectly into what could have easily been a chaotic movie. While Panther plays a larger role, understandably, Spider Man is an absolute delight and it's hard not to jump up and down that we might get the version of Spider Man we've been waiting for. Civil War also does a good job of diving up the lengthy dialogue portions with some fast paced action. This is, after all, the same team who brought us Captain America: Winter Soldier. Daniel Brüh who plays villain, Helmut Zemo, is less conventional that most comic villains in the sense that he doesn't spend much time getting his hands dirty as he does pulling the string to divide the heroes. While that's drawn a bit of criticism, his performance is far from a let down and he carries the film all the way through. This movie has a mix of everything we love from Marvel, funny moments, sweet moments and action galore. Accompanied with a few surprises and nod's to whats coming next as well an amazing soundtrack, I can easily say that we're heading into the most exciting phase of Marvel films yet! This movie is a must see so grab a friend and get to the theater this weekend!
Good news for all! The best part of Daredevil season 2 is getting his very own spin off series. The dark and gritty Punisher, played by Jon Bernthal, is getting a full series order from Netflix with Hannibal's Steven Lightfoot running the show. The Punishers interactions with both Daredevil and Karen Page lead to some really amazing moments as well as strong character growth and brutal action. It'll be exciting when we find out more about where this character's heading after the events of season 2. Keep your eyes peeled for some more Punisher series news as it comes!
With just about a month ahead of it's release, Fox has given us the Final action packed trailer for X Men: Apocalypse. Showing off some awesome fight scenes and a few surprising mutant cameos, X Men: Apocalypse is looking fantastic! Check out the trailer below and see the first official image of one of the surprise mutants below! X Men: Apocalypse will hit theaters May 27th. It looks like one Marvel comic might not be getting the big screen treatment after all. In a surprising move, the planned Inhumans film has been removed from it's previous release date. The film, originally slated to debut following Avengers Infinity War's Part 2, was meant to be the last film of Marvel's phase 3. While Kevin Feige reassured fans that the Inhuman's debut would still happen, it's currently undated due to the planned release of Indiana Jones 5 around the same date. This isn't terribly shocking with the new addition of Spider-Man: Homecoming being added in as well. For now, we'll just have to wait and see when and if these heroes will make their own debuts.
After his big showdown with Captain America in next month's Civil War, we now know where Iron Man's heading next. We already know from the trailer that Iron Man bring Spider Man to the latest Marvel film but it turns out Robery Downey Jr will be lending his talents to the upcoming Spider-man reboot, Spider-man Homecoming. This isn't too surprising considering Downey was just talking about his newest co-star and Aunt May actress, Melissa Tomei. Honestly, I hope Robert Downey Jr's run as Iron Man goes for as long as humanely possible, he did being the current universe after all. Spider-man Homecoming is due out July 7th, 2017.
