The next Bourne film might be a little bit longer away than we expected. Apparently, due to Renners involvement with the Avengers sequel, the movie that was originally scheduled to be released in August of 2015, has been pushed back just short of a full year to July 15th, 2016. With this news also comes the announcement that the director of Fast and Furious, Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast Five and Fast and Furious 6, Justin Lin, will be in charge of the next addition to the series. While it seems like the movie will benefit by being pushed back, it also comes out in the same month as Ice Age 5, Independence Day 2, Tarzan and even a new untitled Marvel film project. We're just going to have to wait and see if Renner and Lin can make this film standout against some stiff competition when it's hit theaters in 2016.
During the Paramount Pictures Slate showcase in CineEurope, Paramount has detailed a whole list of future projects including to a sequel for a movie that hasn't even his theaters yet. In 2015, some of the big confirmed projects were Terminator Genesis, Mission Impossible 5 and Friday the 13th in 3D. for 2016, Transofrmers 5 was confirmed, which would make sense as Transformers 4 will serve as the new start for a second trilogy, Star Trek 3 which will be directed by Robert Orci who served as the screen writer for the first two films in place of J.J. abrams, G.I. Joe 3, Hanself and Gretel 2, Ben Hur and even a new Beverly Hills Cop film. While most of these are sequels or reboots, it still looks like we have some great films coming out way from Paramount in the next few years!
Aside from the horrifying new McDonalds mascot, (pictured on the left) I have some terrific news! Mario Kart 8 will be making its way to the fast food chain this summer! You'll be able to collect all 7 figures pictured about as well as receive a small red cap with eat figure. Keep an eye out because I'm sure they'll go fast!
Get ready to go back to hell, Doom is coming. After 10 years since the last installment in the series, Doom 4, retitled Doom, is set to debut on the next gen consoles. While it's release date has not yet been announced, wit did manage to sneak in a teaser trailer under the radar last week during E3 and it shows off a that classic gore filled monster sci-fiction we've come to love from the series. Check out the trailer below and also pick up Bethesda's latest title, Wolfenstein: The New Order to get access to the beta for Doom when it comes available! The studio and team behind No More Heroes and Killer7 is gearing up to release its newest title in 2015, Let it Die. Debuting it's violent and bloody trailer at E3 this year, Let it Die a.k.a. Lilly Bergamo, is being touted as an "extreme action game," and based on the footage from the new trailers, I think that's exactly what Suda 51 is amazing for. Check it out below and look forward to seeing this title exclusively on PS4 in 2015. While Game of Thrones may have just ended, we'll still have plenty to enjoy. Check out this awesome Legend of Zelda mash up with the intro the HBO's hit series! In the movie that should basically be titled, "Justice League Part 1," reports are surfacing that Jason Momoa, most famously known for his role as Khol Drogo in Game of Thrones, has been cast as Aquaman in the ever expanding cast of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. This comes along side of the news that Martian Man Hunter might be added as well Darkseid to be announced as the films main villain. These characters, of course, make sense for the Justice League film but I hardly see how cramming every single character is going to serve this film well. There's even been rumors that Catwoman could end up in the film as well. Hopefully they won't all get some last scene cameo reveal and actually play a bit of a role in the film but only time will tell. Look forward to seeing Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice in theaters in 2016.
It's no secret that DC and Marvel are at a film war and DC is playing catch up the best way they know how, by releasing a tentative schedule or planned films but will this be too much? As of now, we know that we're definitely getting Batman v. Super: Dawn of Justice as well as the Justice League movie but it looks like we might see a few more faces between those two.
May 2016 – Batman v Superman July 2016 – Shazam Xmas 2016 – Sandman May 2017 – Justice League July 2017 – Wonder Woman Xmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-up May 2018 – Man Of Steel 2 As of now, this is the rumored list of films in development through 2018 which is good because we're apparently going to see a second Man of Steel, which was an amazing reboot film and Shazam could certainly be interesting, the detective Sandman is a little less known but Marvel is doing Ant Man after all so you never know. We'll of course see worlds collide with Justice League introducing the full roster if not having seen them throughout films leading up. What is surprising is a Flash and Green Lantern film that will most likely feature a new Hal Jordan since Zack Snyder spoke about Man of Steel marking the first of a new universe of DC heroes. The issue comes in between just how many super hero films we're going to see in the next few years. May 2016 - Captain America 3 Unannounced 2016 - X Men: Apocalypse Unannounced 2016 - Third amazing spider man Unannounced 2017 - X Men: Wolverine Sequel Unannounced 2017 - Untitled Fantastic 4 reboot Unannounced 2018 - Fourth Amazing Spider Man film These are just rumored to be in production, we have no idea where Marvel could squeeze in possible other rumored projects like Black Panther or even a possible Naymor film. Either way, it seems like we're going to see a lot and we've seen in the past that cramming that many big budget films close together hurts longevity. Either way, buckle your seat belt because it looks like we're going on a super ride. Lets just hope DC can match Marvel in quality, Man of Steel was a good start but they have some work to do. During E3 week, Nintendo invited a handful of gamers to participate in a special tournament showing off their new up and coming Super Smash Bro's title and I have to say, this competition was wild! Check out the entire video and see some of the new moves, levels, and items that will get you extra excited for this title when it hits store shelves this holiday season. |
