eBen Affleck's tenure as Batman is quickly unwinding as sources are reporting that DC is planning on his exit from the coveted role of Batman. This is a bit surprising but we might have had this coming all along. Batman v Superman was not the massive hit that DC wanted but after the reports that Ben Affleck not only stepped down from directing the solo Batman film, but also had his original script canned for a new one by new director Matt Reeves, this looks like a it's been a long time coming. There is also some speculation that it has to do with staging a trilogy around Affleck's Batman and the age of the actor, most likely landing him close to 50 by the time the trilogy would be begin. DC could always keep Ban Affleck as Batman and go the Batman Beyond route, casting a younger actor and having him serve as the mentor for the new dark knight. Regardless, if Ben Affleck ultimately leaves the DC universe post November's Justice League film, it's certainly going to shake up some of the plans for the DCEU.
