The highly anticipated Spider-Man Homecoming film is finally debuting in theaters this weekend but how did Marvel and Sony's surprising joint venture pan out. To be frank, no one was overly enthusiastic of the 6th Spiderman film, with the 3rd recast lead actor since 2002, but Marvel has Spidey right where he needs to be. Spider-Man Homecoming is fantastically well done. Full of Easter eggs, surprising twist, and hilarious. Tom Holland as young peter adds a refreshing element to the more serious tone the superhero genre has been gravitating towards. The story line is grounded and manages to flow well without bogging our webslinger down with a series of forgettable arch nemesis. Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and the rest of the supporting cast really round out the high school experience, adding even more humor and stress in Peter's life. The inclusion of Tony Stark is done to the right amount, where all of his scenes have their importance and don't overshadow Holland's solo effort debut. Marvel also moved from the Uncle Ben story line, alluding to it but never really diving into something that all comic fans (and casual movie goes), know by now. Marvel did a fantastic job, giving the fans of Spiderman and the Marvel cinematic universe the perfect reiteration of this iconic character and I can't wait to see where he swings to next. This is a film you have to see because it's just a really fun and good time.
