Seth MacFarlanes latest venture into motion pictures, A Million Ways to Die in the West, debuted this weekend along side some tough competition, Disney's Maleficent. That, unfortunately, put it against a pretty strong disadvantage and it landed right where I thought it would, raking in a modest and less than hopefully 17.1 million at the box office. After the movie was panned by critics, I will say this and be frank about it. It's Seth MacFarlane. Animated sitcom funny man and writer and producer of American Dad and Family Guy among various other projects that even include releasing his own CD, creates a very silly, sarcastic and satirical look about one mans displeasure with the west as well as losing his girlfriend and trying to over come his self-defeatist attitude with the help of Charlize Theron. The thing is, this movie's subject matter as well as some of the jokes, is just outright offensive. Some are funny, some are hit or miss, others are so foul that you're surprised they've been granted the amount of screen time they got. However, if you're a fan of his writing style, comedic timing and possibly his other movie, 2012's Ted with Mark Whalberg, A Million Ways to Die in the West, might draw some chuckles from you and while it's not the best start for his feature full lead feature length film, its certainly not the worst. A Million Ways to Die in the West is in theaters now, also, have fun looking at the many cameos, many of whom have starred along Seth and voiced charcters in Family Guy.
