It's no secret that the Fantastic Four universe has not done well on the big screen. From the original two films that found the Silver Surfer sequel with a cancelled reboot, it wasn't until 2015 that we saw the team return again to critically panned film that ended up leaving the future in uncertain waters. Initially, it was announced that Fox was determined to move ahead with the planned franchise until a number of the cast members stated they had no interest in returning, including Toby Kebbel, who played Doctor Doom in 2015's film. In fact, just two days ago, Marvel studios president Kevin Feige spoke about Fantastic Four and how there are no current plans to integrate the iconic comic team into the Marvel Universe at this time. Fortunately for fans of the series, Fox is giving it another go with Noah Hawley, fronrunner of FX's Fargo and Legion, with a film centered around Doctor Doom. Unfortunately, this is another instance where the villain would be better served under the Marvel house. From a comic standpoint, he does some truly horrendous things within the universe, including taking Thor's Mjolnir and wielding the Inifnity Gauntlet. While the news is brand new, we will have to wait awhile to see how this films going to pan out and if it's going to be centered around the mad doctor or will we just end up with another Doom v Fantastic Four but told from the angle of the villain?
