Reports have surfaced that marvel may have found the actor to portray on of the most iconic villains for the 3rd Avengers film. Thanos, who's first theatrical appearance was teased in the end credit sequence will not only be the main villain of the 3rd Avengers film, but will apparently appear in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy, set to be released August 1st, later this year. (Spoilers ahead) The mad titan is rumored to be voiced by none other than academy award nominated actor, Josh Brolin, of True Grit and No Country for Old Men fame. While the Thanos appearance is surprising, this does make sense chronologically. Gamora, the green assassin played by Zoe Saldana in Guardians of the Galaxy, is Thanos's adopted daughter, along side Karen Gillan's Nebula, whom he also adopted. The end credit scene for Thor: The Dark World also showed Benecio Del Toro's character, known as the "collector," having had the evil "aether" handed over to him by Thor's comrades, Lady Sif and Volstagg. This marks the second infinity stone, of five, that we've seen so far. The first being the Tessaract that Loki used in the first Avengers film. Del Toro will be reprising this role, which will no doubt lead to Thanos's acquisition of the infinity gauntlet, most likely by the 3rd Avengers film. Thanos just might play a larger role in Guardians of the Galaxy than we originally were lead to believe, especially considering the fact that he wasn't mentioned or teased until now. More on this to come and look forward to Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy.
