19 years ago today, the first power rangers feature length film was released in theaters. A epic action title featuring 5 earth defenders, a plethora of villains, incredible graphics (in 1995) and a main antagonist who's goo would turn good, mild mannered citizens into evil mindless drones. At the same time, nothing takes me back to the excitement of being a 5 year old like the action, the skeleton dinosaur monsters that use to scare me, the choreographed fight scenes and the cringe worthy 90's one liners. Back in an era when a 15 million dollar budget film was a big deal and its 66 million dollar world wide gross made it a hit. While the series itself, adapted by the Japanese tokusatsu series, Super Sentai, has been running since 1993, we've only seen on other movie featuring the rangers, Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie, which did exceed its budget but sadly didn't generate the numbers the first film has and after a long time and many, many, generations of Rangers, we might get a look at the next coming Power Rangers film created by Saban and Lionsgate at this years San Diego Comic Con. While the details are very very sparse, one can only speculate if its going to feature the latest set of rangers or possibly bring back some of the old members? We'll just have to wait and see this July what surprises we have in store. Lets cross our fingers and hope for the best! The series has certainly kept its popularity and if done the right way, the
