European gamers are being treated to a very special limited edition version of the Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire remakes slated to hit store shelves this November. Pictured above, you can see the Omega Ruby version with a steelbook case and a miniature prehistoric Groudon Figurine. The Alpha Sapphire version comes with a prehistoric Kyogre respectively. There will also be limited edition key chains of the three starter Pokemon available as well to choose from. You can see both version below and lets hope that these exclusives make their way stateside soon!
There was a big announcement teased last week for a some major Pokemon news and they did not disappoint. After the first image was shown last year, we got a trailer for the mysterious, fully 3D rendered Pokemon title, what's now being called, Pokemon Tournament! The game, which has collaborations from producers from both the Tekken and Soul Calibur series, seems to be a Pokemon oriented fighter title set to debut first in arcades. While this sounds awesome, the also eliminates a large number of Pokemon that we're most likely, not going to see, as playable characters. Hopefully it doesn't end up being just fighting types but you never know what to expect. Either way, this looks like a fun title that may or may not reach home consoles after its arcade debut. Take a look at the brand new trailer below! Earlier this year, it was announced that Pokemon Art Academy would debut on the Nintendo DS and 3DS in Japan and now it's finally been confirmed for it's American release on October 24th. The title allows gamers to follow simple directions to learn how to draw and color various Pokemon from the popular game series. Check out the trailer below and set aside 40$ for this fun spin off the Art Academy series. The word around the net is that we have a major Pokemon game announcement coming on the 26th of August. During the Monthly Famitsu featuring Pokemon Special, gamers will be treated to a big surprise, which honestly, could be any number of things. Maybe something with the anime or a film? Possibly another odd side project like Pokemon Conquest or Pokemon Art Academy or maybe we'll get a the long anticipated sequel to Pokemon Snap for the N64. (One can dream right?) Maybe even the announcement of a Pokemon Z, which I'm sure would be the connecting piece in the X and Y games as well as completing the Pokedex, seeing as the last two games only added 69 new Pokemon, excluding mega evolutions. My bet, we might be getting a new Pokemon Coliseum title, which I suspected after the initial reveal of Pokemon X and Y showed off the image picture below. All in All, get ready because I know we all love new Pokemon news!
To be honest, I love the idea of mega Pokemon and some of them so far are fantastic, others are, really strange to look out. Mega Slowbro, alongside mega audino (not pictured) was leaked accidentally this week through a Korean gaming site before it had it's official trailer debut. All in all, slowpoke is one of my favorite Pokemon types as well as its evolutionary line so it'll be fun to get my hands on this goofy looking mega! Take a look at the trailer and get excited for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire releasing this November, 21st 2014. Much to my surprise, a friend and I attended the VGU (Video Games United) convention earlier today and this evening along side a friend and spotted a demo section for the new Pokemon Trading Card Game for the iOS. Now, I did hear about the TCG coming but I had no idea it would be that fast or that I would be able to see it in action. (I'll write more about the convention tomorrow) The trading card game, based on the largely popular Pokemon franchise, has been around since 1996 and has continued to grow, releasing new cards and decks to each generation of Pokemon. Once a fan of the game myself, I'm actually quite interested to see how this is going to turn out. To be honest, the iPad is a great interface for gaming and the notoriety, as long as long time history with the Pokemon name itself, leaves me confident in believing that this is going to be an immensely successful app. You can read more about it on the official Pokemon Trading Card Game site.
A new trailer for the upcoming Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire was released, showing off some flashy and surprising, new mega evolutions as well as revealing a lot of details of the brand new contest system and the cosplay pikachu that comes with it. As picture above, mega Altaria become a fairy/dragon type which is sure to pack a serious punch and add a great addition to anyone's team. Also, its important to note that the cosplay Pikachu is unfortunately a Pikachu you're given through the contest and is the only one that can be dressed up, we can also see that from the trailer, each cosplay gives Pikachu a special move like the Libre costume allowing Pikachu to use flying press. There will also be a limited edition distribution for a shiny Beldum starting November 21st, check out the trailer below and get excited! Want to get your hands on a mega Pinsir or a mega Heracross? Well you'll be able to very soon! Available through the wireless connection on the 3DS, the Pokemon will be available to download between August 13th through September 17th. You'll be able download Pinsir for Pokemon Y and Heracross for Pokemon X and if you head to gamestop on August 18th, you'll be able to get your hands on the mega stones necessary for their evolutions! If you're looking forward to getting some strong Pokemon or completing your pokedex, here's a good opportunity to do so.
New scans from the Japanese gaming magazine, Corocoro, show returning character Steven Stone along side his trust Meta-gross with some notable changes, some mega changes. This news comes along side the announcement that new Pokemon will appear in the Hoenn region this time around which could be a hint to existing Pokemon or possibly some new ones seeing as X and Y only added 68 new Pokemon to the Pokedex when it was released. Keep an eye out for more news, announcements and mega evolutions as we wait for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire to arrive this November.
