Konami just let loose some very good news this morning. Ahead of director Hideo Kojima's Gamescom interview, the voice of Snake, Kiefer Sutherland, announced that both titles Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, will be available on steam. While no date was announced as of yet, pre-orders are available to those attending Gamescom so we'll have more on this when the details roll out. Would you prefer to play Metal Gear Solid on the PC or the console?

Tonight the new broke that legendary comedic actor Robin Williams was found dead in his apartment of what's being speculated as an apparent suicide from asphyxiation. Rumors have circulated about Robin Williams struggles with sobriety as recent as within the last month including a return to a rehabilitation center. The world truly lost a great and talented artist and comedian. Having had roles in both film and TV dating back to the late 70's with Mork and Mindy, 1987's Good Morning Vietnam, 1989's Dead Poets Society, as well as Hook, Jumanji, Good Will Hunting, Alladin and Mrs. Doubtfire through the 90's, he also appeared in the smash hit franchise Night as the Museum and even alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar in the short lived sitcom, The Crazy Ones and these are just to name a small selection of his work. In short, the world of comedy has certainly lost a light and, to keep in theme with the blog, I also think it's important to acknowledge that Mr. Williams was a fan of a very famous and well known video game franchise, so much so in fact that he named his daughter, Zelda Williams, after it's princess. Take a look at this father and daughter duo promoting the Legend of Zelda: the Skyward Sword and the admittedly tougher to watch, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. A new trailer for the upcoming Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire was released, showing off some flashy and surprising, new mega evolutions as well as revealing a lot of details of the brand new contest system and the cosplay pikachu that comes with it. As picture above, mega Altaria become a fairy/dragon type which is sure to pack a serious punch and add a great addition to anyone's team. Also, its important to note that the cosplay Pikachu is unfortunately a Pikachu you're given through the contest and is the only one that can be dressed up, we can also see that from the trailer, each cosplay gives Pikachu a special move like the Libre costume allowing Pikachu to use flying press. There will also be a limited edition distribution for a shiny Beldum starting November 21st, check out the trailer below and get excited! What was once only available to Microsoft employees may soon be available to the public if rumors hold to be true. The white Xbox One bundle appeared on the French Amazon page before being quickly removed. The kinect-less console is also said to be released along side Insomniac Games highly anticipated Sunset Overdrive. While no date was listed for the bundles release, it's safe to say that if this is true, you can look forward to getting your hands on it this October 28th, when the game itself is scheduled to be released. Check out the trailer for Sunset Overdrive below. I have to be honest, I'm getting more and more excited over the little details leaking out for the exciting Legend of Zelda and Dynasty Warriors mash up, Hyrule Warriors. Take a look at this nostalgia filled opening sequence for the adventure mode of the game as well as a list of some new and surprising items like Ice Arrow and the Digging mitts, and more! Hyrule Warriors will launch for the Wii U on September 26th, 2014 in North America. Since it's release in 1998, Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time has given us some of gaming most memorable characters and one that has, or at least was, always debated on it's gender was Shiek. Now, to be frank, seeing as Shieks description reads as, "Princess Zelda's alter ego in the game...Zelda passes herself off as a male Sheikah known as shiek," I thought it was pretty common knowledge that Shiek had always been a female but as the years passed, it created what became an over a decade long debate, until now. As reported through Polygon, Bill Trinnen, the senior product marketing manager from Nintendo, responded with, "The definitive answer is that Sheik is a woman, simply Zelda in a different outfit" While I'm certainly not surprised, this does put a lid on one of gaming longest arguments but regardless, Shiek will always be one of the best characters to come from the Legend of Zelda franchise.
Takara Tomy has shown off a brand new Optimus Prime figure with a major twist. The figuring shown above actually transforms into the first generation Playstation 1. While the release date hasn't been announced as of yet, you can expect to get your hands on this awesome collectible in early 2015 and you can read a little bit more about it here. It was very controversial when DC announced that the release date of their upcoming sequel (and bridge to the inevitable Justice League film) would be release May 6th, 2016, the same date as Marvel 3rd installment to the Captain America films and after a long stand off, it looks like DC caved. Variety is reporting that the film has been moved to the new date of March 25, 2016, giving it a strong early spring debut, about 5 weeks ahead of Marvels Captain America. While part of me was waiting for the showdown of box office showdowns, this is good news because it will give Batman v. Superman a strong debut with a solid few weeks to gross, what I sure will be more than Man of Steel, because if Captain America: The Winder Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy are any indication, audiences certainly haven't lost any interest in Marvel films. We'll just have to wait until 2016 to see which movie ends up being better.
The Capcom survival horror classic that defined a genre for gamers and created one of the most popular franchises is getting a HD remake for next year. The Resident Evil 1 remake will allow you to play in the original game resolution as well as the HD widescreen and will allow players to immerse themselves in the familiar locations of the past title. Hopefully this is a sign of where the franchise might head in the future, take a look at the announcement video below! Resident Evil HD will be available on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS 3, PS 4 and PC in early 2015. The Amazing Spider Man 2 still stands as one of my top 5 favorite movies I've seen in 2014 but the deleted scene that leaked onto the internet this week is more than just jaw dropping, it basically changes the entire (or what I thought would be) future of the franchise. In the scene, that was almost immediately pulled off of youtube, while Peter Parker stands in the cemetery over looking the grave of Gwen Stacy, Richard Parker, portrayed by Campbell Scott, approaches, offering some advice to Peter as well as delivering an iconic line, which I won't spoil for you but I'm sure you can recite it with minimal effort. All in all, it's not the biggest scene, but it changes the tone dramatically for the continuation of the franchise, and if Richard Parker should play a larger role in the next Amazing Spider man films, I'm sure we'll hear a lot more about his relation to Oscorp and how he survived. To be frank, this would have been heart stopped to have seen while watching the movie, so I wish they had included more footage of Campbell but it's still interesting either way. The Amazing Spider Man 2 Blue Ray and DVD will be released in America on August 19th, 2014.
