Earlier this year, it was announced that Pokemon Art Academy would debut on the Nintendo DS and 3DS in Japan and now it's finally been confirmed for it's American release on October 24th. The title allows gamers to follow simple directions to learn how to draw and color various Pokemon from the popular game series. Check out the trailer below and set aside 40$ for this fun spin off the Art Academy series.

The word around the net is that we have a major Pokemon game announcement coming on the 26th of August. During the Monthly Famitsu featuring Pokemon Special, gamers will be treated to a big surprise, which honestly, could be any number of things. Maybe something with the anime or a film? Possibly another odd side project like Pokemon Conquest or Pokemon Art Academy or maybe we'll get a the long anticipated sequel to Pokemon Snap for the N64. (One can dream right?) Maybe even the announcement of a Pokemon Z, which I'm sure would be the connecting piece in the X and Y games as well as completing the Pokedex, seeing as the last two games only added 69 new Pokemon, excluding mega evolutions. My bet, we might be getting a new Pokemon Coliseum title, which I suspected after the initial reveal of Pokemon X and Y showed off the image picture below. All in All, get ready because I know we all love new Pokemon news!
Jimmy Fallon fulfills a childhood dream, (that I'm sure he would share with plenty of gamers) by playing a rund of the only James Bond game that mattered, the Nintendo 64 classic, Golden Eye. Pierce Brosnon does warn him before hand that he's played it once and was "no good at it." Take a look at the video to see how James Bond is at playing James Bond! Zero Suit Samus is getting a fun new look that was debut on the miiverse by series creator Masahiro Sakurai. Alongside a handful of other awesome alternate costumes, dedicated fans of the Metroid series might recognize these outfits from the ending of the Game Boy Advance titles, Metroid Fusion and Metroid: Zero Mission. You'll see an image of Samus outside of the Metroid suit armor if specific requirements are met. You can take a look at one of the official images from the games ending below. Are you getting excited for Super Smash Bros 4?
After a long and rocky road, the Ant Man production is finally under way, new director and all. Yesterday, director Peyton Reed, (Bring it on, Yes man) sent out a tweet of good news which hopefully means will be smooth sailing from what could have been (and still might be) Marvels ticking time bomb. Today, Usatoday gave us a first look at Paul Rudd as small time thief, Scott Lang, pictured above out of full Ant-Man attire. I've spoken before, a number of times, about how Marvel should have canned this film following the exit of Edgar Wright, then again after Adam McKay, David Wain, and a handful of other directors passed on this film. Unfortunately, it sounds like the reason they couldn't can this film, even if the studio wanted to, is because it's starting phase 3 of the Marvel Universe as well as being host to an apparent number of cameos and flashbacks, one very important scene featuring Howard Stark, Tony Starks father. Hopefully this movie won't be hindered by trying to weave in multiple story lines like Guardians of the Galaxy was. (although, that was only one of two small things with a very good movie) All in all, I have high hopes for this mess of a film and I'm hoping it turns out to be amazing. If there's one thing we know by now, just having the "Marvel Entertainment," brand on a film is guaranteed to make some money. Ant Man will be released July 17th, 2015.
To be honest, I love the idea of mega Pokemon and some of them so far are fantastic, others are, really strange to look out. Mega Slowbro, alongside mega audino (not pictured) was leaked accidentally this week through a Korean gaming site before it had it's official trailer debut. All in all, slowpoke is one of my favorite Pokemon types as well as its evolutionary line so it'll be fun to get my hands on this goofy looking mega! Take a look at the trailer and get excited for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire releasing this November, 21st 2014. Much to my surprise, a friend and I attended the VGU (Video Games United) convention earlier today and this evening along side a friend and spotted a demo section for the new Pokemon Trading Card Game for the iOS. Now, I did hear about the TCG coming but I had no idea it would be that fast or that I would be able to see it in action. (I'll write more about the convention tomorrow) The trading card game, based on the largely popular Pokemon franchise, has been around since 1996 and has continued to grow, releasing new cards and decks to each generation of Pokemon. Once a fan of the game myself, I'm actually quite interested to see how this is going to turn out. To be honest, the iPad is a great interface for gaming and the notoriety, as long as long time history with the Pokemon name itself, leaves me confident in believing that this is going to be an immensely successful app. You can read more about it on the official Pokemon Trading Card Game site.
Comedian Kevin Hart and actor Dace Franco have teamed up in what is easily the best promotion I've ever seen for a Madden game. Check out the hilarious rap song commercial featuring a handful of sports cameos. (The part at the end is absolutely hilarious) To be frank, I am not the biggest fan of mega-block buster director Micheal "Blow up everything" Bay. I am not a fan of his use of stereotypical behavior (including his most recent Transformers 4 film,) or having created two of the most offensive, foul and senseless characters in one of the most boring films I've ever seen in a theater. Micheal Bay has always been heavily scrutinized, perhaps because of his ability to churn out blockbuster hits that even I can't seem to completely stay away from. As appealing as some of his films look before they are actually released, he has also consistently released some of the worst rated big budget films as well. Known for more of his "aesthetic" than anything else, I was more than over joyed when stories began to circulate this week that he might not return to Transformers definite sequel, Transformers 5. I could, very easily, make a list of ten directors who could completely turn this near cringe inducing franchise around, even with its less than impressive, very odd ending. Well, here is to hoping.
Bioware has announced its next title today at Gamescom, a action style 4 v 1 RPG called Shadow Realms. The game will feature a similar game play style to the upcoming 5 v 1 action game Evolve, pitting players against a "Shadowlord." The game will also release new content in episodic features, expanding the game itself as well as offering new characters and experiences. You can read more about the game on its official site page as well as watching the new trailer below! Shadow Realms doesn't have a release date as of yet but it will be released on the PC. |
