X Men: Days of Future past, one of this years most anticipated blockbuster films is nothing short of amazing. Brayn Singer, director of X Men 1, 2, and X Men first class, returns to direct what might be the best film in the entire X-Men film series. Weaving a story of past, future and present and bringing back more than a few familiar faces, it felt like coming home for long time fans of the films. (Minor spoilers ahead) Most of the cast from First Class return in the sequel, with a few fresh faces and some mentions to others. One of the most talked about and poorly received characters ended up being a hidden gem and comic relief in what, at times, was a dark hero film. Evan Peter's Quick Silver was not only a comic relief, but down right awesome. Much of the core members from the first film return like Mystique, who plays a much larger role alongside Charles Xavier and Mageneto. While dealing with the past story line, the main focus is around Wolverine, who's sent back in time in order to prevent the destruction of humanity at the hands of Bolivar Trask Sentinels. (Trask industries was hinted at the post credit scene in x men: first class) The future features such comic book classics like Bishop, Blink and even Sun spot and even some of the older super hero's like the original Magneto and Xavier, played by Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart. Kitty Pride returns played by Ellen Page and even Shawn Ashmore reprises his role as Ice Man. There are a lot of faces in this film, a lot. Some you'll recognize, some you won't and some you don't even expect. As wonderful as this is, the movie does a wonderful job of not piling too many people on screen at one time. Rarely do you run into a "why are they here and what purpose do they serve," situation. The movie's ending, which has to be seen to be appreciated, is sweet as candy but the end credit sequence was one of the most exciting parts, or not actual part, of the film. (Warning: This is the post credit breakdown, do not read unless you have seen it or want to know!) The nod to the sequel ahead, planned for 2016, is Age of Apocalypse. The scene shows a figure being worshiped while constructing the ancient pyramids of Egypt with telekinetic powers. In the distance are four men on horses, thus another nod towards the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. As the screen pans around, you see a young man with a pale face and blue lips, the original and first Mutant who will become Apocalypse in the future after being sealed away for thousands of years in the Himalayas. Bryan Singer has created arguably the best of the best X men films as well as some of the best Super Hero movies of all time but X Men: Days of Future Past out does itself. Between a solid story line, great cameos and amazing action sequences, the movie tops the films that have come before it.

Word has it that Wolverine's Hugh Jackman is interested in seeing another film starring alongside comic book favorite Dead Pool. As you may recall, Dead Pool was feature in X Men Origins: Wolverine, played by Ryan Reynolds and received mixed reviews by fans and critics alike. While I personally believed Reynolds was a great fit for Dead Pool, and paled in comparison to his Hal Jordan in 2011's Green Lantern, I blame more of the portrayal on the plot of the movie and not so much the actor. I think a Wolverine and Dead Pool movie would be wildly hilarious along with an all around great film and I still think Ryan Reynolds is one of the best actors to fit the demands for this quirky and witty hero. Of course, there's been a lot of talk surrounding just how many more films we'll see Hugh Jackman star in but heres to hoping we might see a proper Dead Pool on screen.
The Arkham series has produced some great Batman games and Arkham Knights looks like it's going to be the best in the series! It's been a long time coming but the Nintendo Wi-Fi service for the Wii, DS and DSi systems is no longer active. That means no online play, leader boards or matchmaking for a large handful of older titles. The Wii shop channel and DSi shop will still be accessible and this does not effect the 3DS or the Wii U. Nintendo released an official statement on their website along with a list of titles affected. Some of the more notable ones are the Animal crossing wild world titles, the older Pokemon titles like Heart Gold and Soul Silver and even Mari Kart Wii. Such a shame and it's ultimately a loss for the gamers.

Today marks the first day of production for the sequel to the highly successful Man of Steel film directed by Zack Snyder. To celebrate the beginning of what will be a long journey, the official twitter page let loose the official title for the sequel as well as the logo. As you can see, the S is a little damaged towards the bottom. The title is also an indication of the direction the movie is heading, leading to the inevitable Justice League film currently slated for May 2017. Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released May 6th, 2016.

We got out first look at Marvel and Disneys up coming animated feature film based on the Marvel comic series, Big Hero 6. Set in a futuristic metropolis by the name of San Fransokyo, a young boy by the name of Hiro Hamada along with his robot team up with a rag tag group to help protect his city against an evil organization. While the cast list hasn't been confirmed in it's entirety, be prepared to hear and see more as the full trailer for this film should hit the net May 22nd and the film itself will be released November 7th, 2014. In what has to be one of the stranger gaming stories I've heard in awhile, virtual reality company Oculus Rift is coming to Chuck-e Cheese. You heard that right, to Chuck-e Cheese. President of CEC entertainment, the parent company over Chuck-e Cheese, Roger Cardinale, released a statement saying that due to the availability of electronic consoles for kids today, virtual reality offers them a chance to give them a different experience, one they can't have at home yet. The company was recently acquired by Facebook and should be available to the public late 2014 to early 2015. While I, in the last few years, have personally heard bad stories about the dining establishment, Cardinale does offer a fair point. VR does offer quite the unique experience. The game itself will allow players to collect tickets that will be displayed 360 degrees around them. These tickets will also be redeemable for prizes. I'm already anticipating the youtube videos of people rapidly swiping at the air, grabbing as many virtual tickets to get a disco ball key chain off the wall. The Oculus Rift will be available in select locations in Dallas, TX, San Diego, CA, and Orlando, Florida.
There has been a lot of talk recently about Hugh Jackmans involvement in the future X Men films and just how much longer he will reprise the role of the mutant Wolverine and the good news is it seems he's still game for the role. Hugh Jackman in a recent MTV statement also admitted that he would love to reprise the role in an Avengers crossover, had the ability ever became possible. Sources have also said that he's nearing his end of this iconic role, having appeared in 7 films, including the Days of Future Past, coming out May 23rd 2014, noting that he will return for a 3rd solo Wolverine film but not sure if he will return for the Age of Apocalypse film which will serve as a sequel to Days of Future Past. Hopefully, we'll get to see Hugh Jackman run his course as Wolverine through the end of the planned X Men films, it would be hard to see someone else filling those shoes after a nearly 15 year career span.
