There seems to just be more and more bad news for Harrison Ford and Star Wars Episode 7. The first reported ankle injury that's now turned into a broken leg has added quite a few complications for Ford and his reprisal of the iconic Han Solo, so much so that they're expanding new coming cast member Oscar Issac's role to cover the time lost. While expanding the role sounds like they're going to try their hardest to make the movie on time for it's release date on December 18th, 2015, Ford being out for a reported 6 months is a big blow to a film who's release date is just a year and a half away. Maybe then can make up time after his injuries have healed or maybe it's better to re-write his role after all. More on this story as it develops but lets all hope for a speedy recovery for the veteran actor.

In a surprising turn of events, the Star Wars trilogy will be moving forward after episode 7 without director J.J. Abrams but they man in his place is one of the most creative and interesting directors to rise to stardom in recent years. Director of Brick, The Brothers Bloom and Looper, Rian Johnson, has been hired on to write and direct Star Wars episode 8 and 9. He even tweeted this funny response from Scott Glenn's "Prayer," when the news story broke. While his Star Wars debut won't be until at least another few years, it'll be interesting to see where these two very different and creative directors take the next set of films.
Among the new cast members added for Star Wars Episode 7, there was noticeable issue, aside from Carrie Fisher, the only other female cast member that was added to the sci-fi epic was new comer Dasiy Ridley, until now. Lupita Nyong'o and Gwendoline Christie are reportedly on board for the J.J. Abrams directed film. In an announcement on the Star Wars site, both actresses have been added to the cast, although their roles and character names have not been release as of yet. Lupita Nyong'o won an Academy Award for her role in Stev McQueen's !2 Years a Slave and Gwendoline Christie will appear in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 2, as well as currently starring in Game of Thrones portraying Brienne of Tarth.
TMZ, buyer of all things new worthy, managed to get their hands on some new Star Wars Episode 7 set pictures showing off some of the scenery of the set J.J. Abrams and team have created in Abu Dhabi. The good news is that earlier reports stated that the forthcoming trilogy will rely less on CG and more on traditional film making styles, which you can get a feel for by a giant pig beast pictured in the shots. Click to get a taste of what they're creating! Star Wars Episode 7 will be in theaters December 18th, 2015!
Fans of the iconic sci-fi cinematic series, Star Wars, will have a lot to look forward to in the next coming years. We already know that Disney is working on the next set of trilogy films and word has been that the idea of standalone films, related to the Star Wars universe and characters, would be explored as well. Well it seems stockholders call, Disney CEO Bob Iger, confirmed that there is in fact three spin off films that will fall between the releases of Star Wars: Episodes VII, VIII, and IX. The current tentative release schedule looks something like this, rumored titles at the time of course.
2014 – Star Wars: Rebels 2015 – Star Wars: Episode VII 2016 – Boba Fett 2017 – Star Wars: Episode VIII 2018 – Han Solo 2019 – Star Wars: Episode IX 2020 – Star Wars: Red Five Star Wars: Rebels, the up coming animated series, is set to debut on the Disney channel this fall. Star Wars episode 7 will be released next winter, December 18th, 2015. The most exctiing and noticable change to this line up is the "red five" film slated for 20/20. Red Five, pictured above, is a call sign for the red squadron, which were essentially their starfigher units. It's also a title possessed by both Luke and Anakin Skywalker and mentioned in the video game title, Star Wars: Jedi Knights: Dark Forces 2. The original rumor, for some time, was that the three characters that were going to get their own spin off films were Boba Fett, Han Solo and Yoda. While this is unconfirmed, a Red Five film could be incredible interesting also given that it's slated to follow the 9th title in the series. Much more on this as it develops! The unofficial Star Wars holiday is upon us and I, for one, am excited! This also means that we'll only have to wait through another Star Wars day next year before we get to see the newest Star Wars film in theaters! While I'll do my best to add to this post in case anything interesting happening today, NASA and Lucasfilm teamed up for a little video with a cameo from a very famous and loveable Star Wars character. It's been a great week for Star Wars news and here to hoping we get some more information on the forthcoming film! May the fourth be with you!
