The full new Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer had dropped and boy did it show us a lot more of the film! While we saw a little less of Wonder Woman, we do understand her role and we get to see ill fated first meeting between Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne and their disagreement on how justice should be handled. What's even more interesting, however, is Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor using the body of a former villain to create a possibly very popular comic enemy that forces Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman together against it. Take a look at the awesome new trailer and being the countdown for this movie to his the big screen March 25th, 2016!

There was some good and bad news for DC's Tv series this week. First, a rumor of Matt Ryan's John Constantine who recently reprized his role on the CW's Arrow might play a larger role than we thought. Rumors surfaced this week that Constantine might make his way over to the 2016 series, The Legend of Tomorrow but in the second season. Unfortunately for both Ryan and the new series, it's apparently being reported that the first season of Legends of Tomorrow is so expensive to develop that the chance of a second season is apparently unlikely. Hard to imagine given the success of all the current DC TV which makes me believe that if Legends does as well as the CW hopes it will, it will definitely be back for another season. Looks like the future for Constantine is once again up in the air but hopefully we do see more of him on arrow and possibly even, The Flash. As the weeks move on, both CW DC series, Arrow and The Flash, have been giving us hints right and left about the developing crossover, Legend of Tomorrow and tonight we got a look at Hawkgirl, a.k.a. Kendra Sanders. In a side story that see's Cisco and Barry in line at the local coffee shop, Cisco tries his best and fails pretty hilariously to pick up the barista only to find out by the end of the episode that's shes going to be a major character moving forward. While Legends of Tomorrow isn't set to premier until 2016, I'm sure we'll be seeing more of her character as well as other easter eggs and mentions of more "meta-humans" throughout the season.
At the end of Monday night's episode of Gotham, I noticed what seemed to be a small nod at a classic villains possible return to the Batman universe and I ended up being correct in that assumption when the news was made public that House of Card's Nathan Darrow (who plays Edward Meechum) will be playing none other than Mr. Freeze himself later this season. This is great news as Gotham's doing a spectacular job building the backgrounds for the villains instead of just lopping them in there. With Galavant, Penguin, Enigma and now Victor Fries in the mix, things are going to get messy.
Spoilers ahead, be warned if you haven't seen the episode yet or don't want to know. If you have, we need to discuss what happened in the 3rd episode of the second season of Gotham, "The Last Laugh." After crafting what certainly appeared to be The Joker's origin story, in one Jerome Valeska played by Cameron Monaghan, it looks like we were all lead astray when his character was killed off in shocking fashion by new villain, Theo Galavan, played by James Frain. The scene took place during a charity event magic show, in which Galavan was supposed to create the opportunity of portraying heroism while allowing Valeska to take him away but it seems like Galavan had been playing him all along, stabbing him in the neck in and explaining, "this isn't what we rehearsed." What makes is more interesting is Valeska's father, whom we saw killed earlier in the episode, left him with some choice words about the affect of his legacy and the madness it will inspire and the episode ends showing various scenes of people laughing manically, just like The Joker. While its a bit sad to see such a great actor and character go, Gotham certainly pulled off a great joke on the viewers. So the question is now, is Galavan the new Joker or will we get a new character all together?
ABC's Supergirl is finally showing us some new footage of some action, villains and even more of what's to come during it's debut season. Take a look at the trailer below. Do you think this is enough to get you interested in this series? Get ready to catch it when it airs October 26th! The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder, made some comments about Marvels phase two close out film, Ant-Man, that was released this summer and he doesn't seem very fond of it. He described the movie as "flavor of the week," even going on to say, "what is the next blank-man?" This is a bit surprising from the director who's usually out of the press for anything outside of talking directly about his own projects. In an interview with The Daily Beast, he also speaks about D.C.s plans of moving the movies ahead with the description of being "more mythological, then, say, bubblegum." This certainly isn't the first recent spat between the two big studios either. Whether Snyder wants to admit it or not, Marvel's plan has worked pretty well since 2008 so hopefully BvS lives up to all of the hype surrounding it when it releases next year. You can read the full interview with The Daily Beast here and hopefully we get to continue to see great super hero films before they end up like Westerns, as so predicted by director Steven Spielberg.
The incredibly well done DC series, Gotham, wrapped up earlier this year with an explosive ending but it's ready to up the ante for season 2. With the tag line, "Villains rise," take a look at the new trailer showing off Tigress and her brother, the (possible) future Joker and even more unannounced villains that will bring Gotham to it's knees. Check it out below and get ready for the new season to being on September 21st, 2015! The intelligence officer and love interest of Wonder Woman has finally been cast and it's by on of the actors who was rumored to be in the running for the new Green Lantern. Star Trek's Chris Pine, looks like he'll be taking on the role of Steve Trevor in the Wonder Woman solo film. This is also the second announced cast member since Gal Gadot as the heroin herself. This is good news considering last we heard it sounded like DC didn't know which direction to head when it came to bringing this iconic hero to the big screen. This also begs the question, will we get to see a bit of Diana's (Wonder Woman) home, Paradise Island. They might keep continuity as well seeing as the character will appear in next years Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, so maybe the origin story won't be explained after all? Let's hope that the movie gives this hero the story she deserves!
DC has made it clear that they're not going with the light tones Marvel's Cinematic Universe has and this new trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, makes that pretty clear. We get to see some awesome Wonder Woman action and where Ben Affleck was the day that Superman fought fellow kryptonian, Zod, the destruction of which being our hero under questioning. We even get a hand written note with the words, "you let your family die," being held by Batman in some very recognizable style of one iconic villain we'll see more of in the future and our first real look at Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. Take a look at the awesome comic con trailer below! |
