If this holds true, this might be the best version of this live action adaptation anime fans could have ever hoped for. It's not denying that Christopher Nolan has made a major stamp in Hollywood, boasting numerous awards with his critically acclaimed films but rumor has it the legendary director is in talks with Warner Bro's studio to produce a three part Akira live action film series, which is nothing short of incredible. This rumor, courtesy of Den of Geek, also involves Daredevil season 2 and Sons of Anarchy writer, Marco J. Ramirez as well. Of course, this is far from the first time rumors have circulated about a live action Akira film as Warner Bro's acquired the rights to the live action film back in 2002 and the allegend script has moved through plenty of hands. Hopefully this title will actually move forward this time because with Nolan behind the lens, it's hard to imagine this movie won't come out great!

(It also has one of the best intro themes to an anime series and I'm willing to dispute that claim) The film is set to be directed by Rupert Sanders, who most recently made 2012's Snow White and The Huntsman. There is currently no release date for the live adaptation of the classic anime series.
