The sequel to the extremely successful 2014 blockbuster, The Maze Runner, hit's theaters tonight but will it back the same punch? Right off the bat, The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, is a high energy, action packed film that still feels a bit odd so late into the year, but it's certainly a great fall blockbuster. The movie features our cast of remaining survivors from the first film now stuck in an entirely new situation, trying to figure out just who they're really up against. While the movie lacks the over all curiosity of The Glade from the first film, it manages to give even more twist and turns, raising even more questions about our protagonist, Thomas played by Dylan O'Brien, and what he did that he still is unable to remember. The movie had some amazing action sequences as well as some gorgeous cinematic moments. The movie feels more intense and more emotional than the last. It's also more adult and a bit more violent than the original. While the ending felt mind blowing in the first Maze Runner, the second, sadly, lacked that moment but that still doesn't detract from the many well done moments from the returning cast as well as new to the franchise, Game of Throne's Aidan Gillen, as villain Jansan. This is a must see to bring in the fall movie season.
