It's been a few weeks since we've had a good movie hit theaters but we're finally getting under way with out big name fall releases, first up is the action thriller Maze Runner. How did Teen Wolf star Dylan O'Brien's first lead role turn out, lets take a look!
Dylan O'Brien wakes up in an elevator chute being transported to a enclosure, trapped with a group of other young men who have all lost their memories and are surrounded by a large structure as know simply as, The Maze. While the premise seems a bit straight run through (pun intended) the movie leaves you with enough questions and a very surprising ending, that lends structure to the story line as well as what will come in the future. It was previously announced that, upon the films success, a sequel would happen but 20th century fox have already begun pre-production as recently as two weeks ago. Regardless of how this movie fairs at the box office, its still a solid title that shows emerging star Dylan O'Briens versatility. The Teen Wolf actor is joined by former Skins UK star Kayla Scoledario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster better known as Jojin from Game of Thrones, and Will Poulter from the comedy We're the Millers, among many others. One of the strengths in this film is the thin line the group of stranded survivors walk in order to keep peace between not only themselves, but what lurks inside the Maze. The growing tension between O'Brien and Poulter as well as the mystery behind the Maze and what's inside keep the movie from hitting any awkward or unnecessary pauses and the clues add to the enthralling story that emerges behind the scenes. This film is a good departure from the young adult novel adaptations we've grown accustomed to. It's a little bit grittier and a little bit more menacing and provides for a great start to kick off fall 2014. Also, if you're located near one of the few Escape movie theaters, I suggest checking out Maze Runner in this interactive film going experience.
