Let's be honest, it's hard to convince people to fork over any kind of money for the once critically acclaimed director, M. Night Shyamalan, but I can assure you, this is worth it. The visit is without a doubt the best film from the director in recent memory, maybe even since 2002's Signs, but the director really hit this one out of the park. The Visit manages to mix elements of the recent successful low budget horror films from some elements that give you a bit of a Paranormal Activity feel with the same intensity that made the Conjuring so popular but the best part of the film is how grounded and realistic the scenario is, thus adding to the intensity. The formula results in a movie that builds fast and does what a lot of movies are unable to do, save the best for last. The last arc of the story feels like standing on a knife and for a horror movie in this day and age, it's only refreshing, it's actually scary. This movie is definitely one to catch while we make out way into the Fall movie season and might just put back M. Night in the good graces of movie goers.
