(Minor spoilers ahead) Shaun of the Dead director, Edgar Wright's, latest film opens in theaters this week and it is living up to the already critical acclaim it has earned from early reviews. Baby Drive is Wright at his absolute best. Driving off a classic heist formula, the movie finds the central character, Baby (Ansel Elgort), caught in a world of crime in order to pay off a debt to a seedy criminal (Kevin Spacey), and his changing gangs of robbers. The movie's casting is absolutely fantastic but where Wright really comes in strong is his signature style. Few films lack the parallels and small moments of brilliant editing work that Wright can work in. From Bats (Jamie Foxx) repeatedly wearing red, to the vinyls placement and plenty of others, Wrights work style of visual comedy is better than ever. Baby Driver, like the character Baby, is helped by the music choices, that pair with certain scenes in entertaining ways. Not only does Wright use bullet shots to play into certain tracks, but he's smart enough to push some of the slower scenes, keeping the movie flowing from start to finish. Baby Driver is one of 2017's most fun and stylish films and one you absolutely want to catch, dance, sing along to, and tap your feet with long after the ride.
