Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday with their loved ones today! In honor of this momentous occasion, (and it being such a slow news day) I figured, why not. Let makes a post of some of the best video game mothers!
Picture
While you never actually see or meet your Mother in Animal Crossing, she sure does make the game feel a lot more like home without her. Throughout the game, you'll receive letters detailing her day as well as sending her love. A sweet add in to an already great game series.

While this is, of course, an image of Ash Ketchums Mom from the anime series of Pokemon, the in game moms are an amazing resource. Need access to a PC? Go up stairs! Need the occasional potion? You'll have had one purchased for you. You also have the option to allow her to keep a portion of your money and save it for you, which comes in handy if you ended up losing a lot to a gym or spending it all at the game corner. Each mother in the series is a different individual, of course, each with their own lines of fun dialogue and back stories. They're always willing to help and a great source of encouragement as you set on your pokemon journey.

In Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Links relationship with his other differs from the ones above it. You don't directly interact with her but, by the end, you understand the initial set up of the game because of the sacrifice she made for her son, the main protagonist.

(mild spoiler alert)
"One day, to escape from the fires of the war, a Hylian mother and her baby boy entered this forbidden forest. The mother was gravely injured... Her only choice was to entrust the child to the Deku Tree, the guardian spirit of the forest. The Deku Tree could sense that this was a child of destiny, whose fate would affect the entire world, so he took him into the forest. After the mother passed away, the baby was raised as a Kokiri. And now, finally, the day of destiny has come!

Through her heroism, the kingdom of Hyrule is given it's warrior and savior and if that doesn't make an awesome mother than I don't know what does!
